It’s a date…My little red book.

My little red book was a freebie from Elle magazine, celebrating its 10 years in Singapore and to reward readers like me welcoming my New Year with new ‘datebook’ backed in year 2004. And, it has since followed me into the fourth year.
I remember when I opened up my little red book; I was smitten and at the same time bothered by the agenda within…

  • 10 things to achieve in 2004 (What & How to do it)…

Having already set my resolutions, I wrote readily (at 23 years old then) that (1) I want to earn big bucks, (2) Go upgrade myself (3) Search my interest (4) Go to a far away place to spurge & enjoy (5) To be number one in everything I do!
Looking back now, I have achieved my second goal set with a Degree obtainment in year 2007. As for the rest, guess there’s still tons of hard work, effort and perseverance needed. On a positive note, I am still hopeful that I should be able to realize my fourth goal real soon! Either to States I anticipated or best Santorini which always been on my mind.

  • 10 most important people in my life (Name, Address, Tel, D.O.B, Email)

???Clueless about it! And why would I want to pen down when everything can be stored in mobile!

  • 10 treats I’m saving up for (What, estimated cost, when I want it, amount to set aside a month)…

Yeah, this was easy boy! I remembered that I wanted to be realistic and not over ambitious and so I modestly penned down that I wanted a Gucci Slingbag in pink costing $960 by Oct 2004 and followed by a Louis Vuitton Papillion estimated at $860 by Christmas. Fortunately or rather unfortunately, I managed to achieve the latter luxury treat by Mar 2004 but not the former piece.

And since, the lure for luxury possession did not stop. I begun to fill the other 8 rows with the desired IT bag I saw during each shopping retreat.

As, I flipped through the pages of my little red book, I was thrilled on the notes I have scribbled … the details of my birth, inspiring quotes, when and what I did, recommended travel spots I have copied from magazines, recommended dining places, price lists of the luxury items I am eyeing, outstanding bills to debtors, online shopping websites, my acquisition from each vacation, what’s on my mind on a particular day….

May sound silly though, but I am glad I had my hidden agenda to reminisce my past and inspiration of the present and maybe future! What’s within were my life simple pleasures that I madly lived by…
